We have finally concluded the judging for the essay competition to which your students sent entries in June. One hundred and eighty-seven entries from thirteen countries were submitted. I would like to thank your students very much for taking the time to prepare the entries. They were all very rich and interesting and we feel that it was a worthwhile exercise. The judges decided that the best ten entries were from ten countries, Bangladesh, China, Cook Island, Fiji, India, Malaysia, Niue, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. They satisfied the criteria which were required and their information and research were better than the other entries. Our warm congratulations to them. It was decided that although some of the other entries did not meet the criteria fully, their entries were quite good and they put a lot of efforts into writing them.
